Founded in 2014 after a management buyout, the company acquired its packaging facility, which had been formally owned by the global medical device giants, DePuy Synthes and later Zimmer Biomet.

Subsequently, the company started its operations as a contract manufacturing organization that specializes in manufacturing, sterile packaging and sterilization for orthopedic implants and other medical devices. Since then, Mediliant has grown from a team of 40 employees to a workforce of 360 professionals after recent mergers with contemporary CMOs such as MDI and CTE. With these acquisitions, the new Mediliant Group has a global footprint focused on the manufacturing of small, complex implants.

Concurrently, the company’s current team is ripe with highly competent experts from the fields of packaging, sterilization, product design, and more. In one instance, the company helped a large OEM in establishing a single source for packaging and sterilization of their products. Now, as this was a large project with a varying degree of products and sizes, the customer was facing many challenges in maintaining the sterility of their packaging, which led to them approaching Mediliant. In another case, Mediliant aided a small medical device company to develop an affordable and highly productive packaging solution that eliminates their need to approach several disparate packaging partners.

Moving forward, Mediliant plans to maintain its company’s growth and become the preferred CMO in sterile packaging of small, complex medical devices. “Today, we are in the top 10 CMOs that specialize in sterile packaging, and in the coming decade, we plan to reach the number one spot with our state-ofthe- art facility and ever-expanding team of experts,” concludes Leissing.
